White Marbles
The classic and most famous of the Apuan Alps. Marbles whith a fine or medium grain, extremely homogeneous and from a pure white color to pearly white. They are usually missing or almost of any ornamentation, however locally they may present dark spots or small veins and lighter.
Statuary Marbles
Ivory white color whith big grain marbles, sometimes tending to very light yellow-beige, and generally uniform. Locally, they may exhibit small and sparse gray spots due to weak concentrations of pyrite and fillosilicate; they can be arranged in subtle veins that interrupt the uniformity of the material.
The name comes from the main use of this variety of marble; over the centuries it has been, and still is, the material of excellence for sculpture.
Brecciated Marbles
This category includes marbles that have a distinctive vein composition that characterizes the product, thanks to the variations in color and in veins (from gray to green, from red to purple) and to different shapes that depending from the cut.
These marble varieties have natural and unique textures.
Grey and venied marbles
Marbles characterized by a background color that goes from light gray to dark gray, with veins of different dimensions, lighter and darker.
